From the ceiling to the attic, our team has experience insulating every part of the roof. From old roof removal, cleaning and vacuuming to new roof insulation, we carry out each task. The roof is the part of a home most exposed to temperature variations — a poorly insulated roof loses heat in winter and overheats in summer.
Insulation depends on the house design. If the attic is unused, insulating the attic floor is practical — it’s accessible and doesn’t require visible aesthetics. Old insulation is examined; if reusable, new insulation is laid over it, otherwise old fillers are removed using pumps.
At least R2.5 is recommended for roof insulation. Wind barriers are installed without covering air shafts to allow ventilation, and a tight vapour barrier is placed on the warm side. Proper air circulation prevents moisture build-up, and insulating from outside reduces thermal bridges.
